The Malta Visa Application Centre in Beijing which was inaugurated on 8 April 2009, the Malta Visa Application Centre in Shanghai was inaugurated on 1 April 2015, and the Malta Visa Application Centres in Shenyang, Xi’an, Jinan, Wuhan, Changsha, Chengdu, Chongqing, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Kunming, Guangzhou, Fuzhou and Shenzhen were inaugurated on 11 September 2017, are authorized by the Embassy of Malta in Beijing to receive visa applications from all over mainland China, receive the visa fee, and return passports to visa applicants holding ordinary passports. Please note that the Malta Visa Application Centre website contents and checklists apply only to residents of mainland China. Any other applicant has to contact Embassy of Malta in Beijing directly for instructions on how to apply for a visa. The Embassy of Malta can be contacted on visa.beijing@gov.mt.

Processing of visa applications, interviews and decision-making on all visa applications will continue to be made by officials of the Embassy of Malta in accordance with the rules relating to Malta Immigration and instructions issued by the Central Visa Unit of the Ministry for Home Affairs and National Security of Malta. Staff members of the Visa Application Centre are in no way involved in the decision-making process and are unable to influence the process.

The Malta Visa Application Centre receives visa applications from Monday to Friday from 8.00 am till 3 pm. Applicants (with some exceptions as indicated below) are kindly requested to submit the visa application in person.

It is imperative that travel agent send an email to Visa Application Centre, for Shanghai : infojvac.shanghaichina@vfshelpline.com with simple information of the group size (above five) and preferred date and time of submission of biometric, to book an appointment to submit group applications in advance.
